The music on Fernweh is highly inspired by the six months I spent in New York City and the trio tour that I did where we traveled through five different countries in southern Africa. Both experiences enriched my life in a way that nothing else could do to the same extent. Getting lost at first abroad is a valuable thing to happen. When you then find your way through new situations, you feel so much energy and joy that you want to repeat that same experience over and over again. Fernweh describes that feeling of longing for parts of the world that you've not yet been to.
