One of the key moments of life as a musician was that one gig where my friend and great saxofone player Johannes Enders introduced me to Wolfgang Muthspiel. I listenend to his playing a lot and admired his sound, compositions and innovative musical instinct. Wolfgang invited me to have private lessons with him in Vienna. Those lessons where so precious to me and openend lots of new worlds for me. Later behing his student at Jazzschule Basel was a dream come true. Wolfgang produced Sturmvogel and wrote a tune for the record. I can`t even begin to explain how his presence influenced the music played on this studio date. Sturmvogel was my debut on the German jazz scene as a bandleader and received enthusiastic public acclaim.
